How to Clean Your Bathroom

Let’s face it, cleaning your bathroom is probably not your favorite job. From shower scum to toilet stains to mirror smudges, there are so many types of messes, and it can be hard to know which cleaners and tools to use for each surface. But, once you get your routine down, there’s nothing more satisfying than transforming a grimy bathroom into one that sparkles. Here are a few tips to get you started.

  1. Don’t forget handles and knobs. Your toilet handle is probably the dirtiest part of your whole bathroom! Shower doors, faucet handles, and even your bathroom doorknob should all be wiped down each time you clean. And, to restore luster to all your metal surfaces, give them a quick polish with Brillo® Cameo®, our non-abrasive powder cleaner.

  2. Clean your sink before your mirror. To avoid splashing water all over your spotless mirror, clean the sink first. Then, remove toothpaste splatter and water spots from your mirror with an all-purpose cleaning spray and a no-scratch cloth like the Brillo Estracell® Sponge Cloth.

  3. Scrub every crack and crevice. From the sink to the shower, there are tons of hard-to-reach spots in your bathroom. And, with so many germs around, it’s crucial to reach every corner. The Brillo Estracell No Scratch Sponge is designed with a patented wedge shape for hard-to-reach spots. That, plus bacteria won’t grow on our Estracell Sponges, which makes them more sanitary.*

  4. Show smelly germs you mean business. If there’s one room that requires a little extra cleaning power, it’s your bathroom. So, it’s important to use the right cleaning products, like Brillo SNO BOL® Toilet Bowl Cleaner and Brillo Parsons® Household Ammonia Cleaner. Check out our step-by-step guide to cleaning your toilet here and our guide to cleaning your shower here.

* Independent test results demonstrate that bacteria will not feed and survive on the sponge fibers of Estracell sponge material naturally. The unique cell structure rinses cleaner and dries faster, eliminating the perfect breeding condition for bacterial and fungal growth. These qualities make Estracell more sanitary.
